Release v1.23.0: New Pricing Beta goes live 11.12.2024
  • Pricing Beta: A complete overhaul of the pricing module with an all-in-one interface for managing prices. No matter your price structure you can now calculate it with Best Pilot.

  • New packages: Introduced new logic for your pricing packages (in example 45h PPL packages). 
  • Payment Info in Training Details: Payments are now visible in training details, improving financial transparency.

  • Negative Balance Restriction: Students with a balance below the threshold are now restricted from booking aircraft.

  • Student Milestone Confirmation: Instructors can now confirm milestones (like First Solo authorisation, Cross-country 150NM flight, etc.), improving progress tracking.

  • Register Multiple Landings: Landings at different airports during a single flight can now be recorded, enhancing operational accuracy.

  • Pilot License Number: Pilot license numbers are now displayed in the User Profile for quick access and verification.

  • Training Session Edits: Only admins can now edit or delete flown training sessions, ensuring greater control over completed training records.
  • Local/Cross-Country Training Visibility: Resolved an issue where "Local" and "Cross-Country" training types were not displayed correctly in training plans.
  • Lesson Drag-and-Drop Issue: Fixed a bug where dragging and dropping lessons unintentionally changed their order.
  • Instructor Permissions: Addressed a problem where instructors could delete lessons but were unable to add new ones to training plans.
Release v1.21.0: Documents tracking improvement 14.11.2024
  • Financial Administrator Access: New role was introduced, allowing Financial Administrators to access relevant financial data directly within the system.  This is only the beginning of pricing module improvements - stay tuned!

    • User Profile Access Issue: Resolved an issue where users landed on the wrong page when trying to open a profile directly via URL without sufficient access.
    • Event Deleted Badge for Transactions: Payment transactions linked to deleted training sessions now display an “Event Deleted” badge for clarity.
    • Cancelled Event Reopen Issue: Fixed a bug where cancelled events in the notification centre could not be reopened without a page refresh.
    • Flight Fuel Input Correction: Corrected an issue with adding/editing flights when fuel was entered as a floating-point number (e.g., 120.5).

  • Maintenance Reminders: Receive timely reminders on the dashboard informing you when maintenance is due, ensuring your fleet stays operational and safe. In one click the maintenance can be planned.

Bug Fixes:

  • Time Zone Information in Flight Summary: Added clear time zone information on flight summaries to avoid confusion.

  • Calendar Time Zone Adjustment: Fixed an issue where the calendar was set to UTC+2 regardless of the user’s settings, and events were being incorrectly transformed to UTC.

  • Training Progress Color Issue: Resolved a bug where incorrect colors were displayed in the training progress view, ensuring consistency across the interface.

  • Student Lesson Cancellations: Students can now easily cancel lessons, making scheduling more flexible and transparent for all involved parties.

  • Subscription Info Moved to ATO Settings: The subscription settings have been reorganized and are now available under ATO settings for easier access and management.

Bug Fixes:

  • Cancelled Lesson Aircraft Reservation Issue: Fixed a bug where cancelling a lesson would incorrectly indicate that the aircraft was still reserved.

  • Ground Training Block Time Fix: Addressed an issue where ground training in a classroom was incorrectly counted as block time. This has now been resolved.

Release v1.15.0: Planning Automation and Few other Improvements 16.09.2024
  • Planning assistance - Slot Suggestion: Users now receive multiple suggested slot options when scheduling or rescheduling lessons for greater flexibility.

  • More transparent payments list: The payments list has been restructured for easier navigation and transaction management, it's now easy to see both latest transaction and the history of changes. 

  • Custom Operating Hours: Admins can now set custom operating hours for their school, offering better management of availability and scheduling.

  • Reports interactive summary: Admins and users can now sum up reports for a selected period, improving operational analysis.

  • Lesson Cancellation in BP App: Users can now cancel lessons directly in BP Light, enhancing convenience and ease of use.

  • A few minor improvements suggested by our customers: 
    • The system now sets the Cursor to the text box when managing crew, saving time when entering crew information.
    •  Excel Format Adjustment: Data exported in Excel now follows a consistent, user-friendly format for better readability and analysis.
    • Persist User Filters: User-applied filters will now persist across sessions, improving report customization and efficiency.
  • Bug Fixes: 
    • Training Not Found Error: Resolved the "Training not found" issue when sharing calendars.
    • View Only Permission Issue: Fixed an issue where students could plan or register training for aircraft with "View only" permission.
    • Duplicate Event in Shared Calendar: Addressed the issue of duplicated events on shared calendars.
    • Stale Training Data: Resolved an issue where training data would remain stale after editing.
Release v1.14.0: Matching the availability and lesson cancellations 27.08.24
  •  Matching Slot Suggestions: When creating the lesson, the system will now suggest a matching slot, based on declared availability, making it easier to find alternative times.

  • Lesson Cancellation with Reason: Users can now cancel lessons and specify a reason for the cancellation, improving communication and record-keeping.

     

  • Admin Access to Canceled Lessons: Admins can now view and review all cancelled lessons, ensuring better oversight and management of scheduling.

  • Event Update Notifications: Users will be notified when an event they are involved in is updated, ensuring they are always in the loop.

  • Email Reminders for Unseen Notifications: If a notification is not viewed 24 hours prior to a booking, the system will automatically send an email reminder, ensuring important updates are not missed.

Bug Fixes:

  • Password Change Error Handling: Fixed an issue where users encountered an error when entering the wrong current password during a password change.

  • Outlook Event Issue: Resolved a bug where Outlook events were created without participants, ensuring all event details were accurately captured.

  • Registration Email Change: Addressed an issue where users could not change their email after a failed login attempt during registration.

Release v1.13.0: Declaring availability 08.08.24

Declare Availability: Users can now declare their availability, making it easier to schedule training sessions and other events. Next release will introduce slot suggestions - stay tuned. 


Event Creation Notifications: Users will be notified when a new event is created, ensuring timely awareness and participation.



Calendar Filters: The software now allows users to filter out other people's calendars, providing a cleaner and more focused view of their own schedule.


Enhanced Training Summary PDF: The PDF report now includes an upgraded Training Summary, offering more comprehensive and detailed training information.



Student View UI Update: The student view user interface has been updated for a more intuitive and user-friendly experience.

Release v1.7.2: License verification and admin empowerment 14.06.24
  • Pilot Document Verification: Admin can define the requirement for  Pilots to have valid documents to fly, ensuring compliance and safety.
  • Admin Controls few changes now available for the Admin roles
    • Delete Employees: Admins now have the ability to delete employee records, providing better management of personnel data.
    • Delete Training Plans: Admins can delete training plans that are no longer needed, keeping the system organized.
    • Rename Training Plans: Training plans can now be renamed, allowing for better customization and clarity.
  • Briefing & Debriefing Suggestions: The system now suggests briefing and debriefing times (based on the most recent selection for PIC), helping to streamline scheduling and preparation processes.

  • Bug PIC Suggestion Fix: Resolved an issue where the PIC (Pilot in Command) was not automatically suggested when an Admin clicked an event near an instructor. This ensures correct role assignment during scheduling.

  • One-Click Booking: Booking flights is now simpler than ever. Users can make bookings by clicking directly on the calendar grid, streamlining the scheduling process

  • Automatic Flight Category Selection: The system now automatically selects the appropriate category for cross-country and solo/dual flights, reducing manual input and ensuring accuracy.
  • User Preferences for Block/Flight Time: The software now remembers user preferences for block and flight times, providing a more personalized and efficient scheduling experience.
  • Improved migration process: it is now possible to migrate trainings with multiple lessons as well as ground trainings.

  • Pilots can be charged for Time-Building: Pilots can now easily manage and pay for time-building sessions, streamlining the process and enhancing user convenience.
  • Improved Navigation: The navigation within the software is now fixed and no longer scrollable, providing a more stable and user-friendly experience.
  • PDF Rearrangement in Training Progress Card: We've rearranged the PDF format to include the Training Progress Card, making it easier to track and report on student progress.
  • Bug Fixes: Various minor bug fixes to improve the overall stability and performance of the software, among others Higher Precision of Tacho in App: The app now features higher 2-digit precision for the tachometer, enhancing the accuracy of flight time tracking.

  • Pilot Rental Support: Pilots now can register their flights seamlessly, making the rental process smoother and more convenient for both pilots and administrators.

  • More intuitive registration of Supervised Solo Flights in BP: We've integrated Supervised Solo flights into the crew management in the BP app, empowering pilots with greater autonomy while ensuring safety and compliance.

  • Reports support new crew management: Our reporting system now aligns with the latest crew management standard, providing accurate and up-to-date information for better decision-making and regulatory compliance.

Release v1.1.0: Aircraft calendar sharing 09.04.24
  • Aircraft calendar sharing: Admins now can share the aircraft calendar with users, allowing them different levels of access depending on their needs. 

The list can be managed both from the User list (selecting various aircraft that users can see) and from the aircraft list (selecting different users that can see the aircraft). 

  • Google reCaptcha Integration: We've integrated Google reCaptcha with our Auth service to enhance security and protect against unauthorized access.

  • Report Visibility Fix: Flights without students are now properly displayed in reports, ensuring accurate tracking and analysis.
  • Few other minor bugs and enhancements to improve the overall performance and usability of the software.
Release v1.0.0: Registering flights on desktop 27.03.24
  • Enhanced flight form interface for desktop users, providing a more streamlined experience.

  • A new feature to allow the addition of unscheduled flights directly from the desktop application.

  • Synchronization of MS Outlook calendar events with training session notes for improved planning. Ask for details!

  • More intuitive process of defining new airplanes with integrated payment and maintenance in a single form.
  • General improvements including enhanced auto-fill, refined notifications, updated app version visibility, color adjustments for user interface, optimized table component for empty states, and reordering table actions for better efficiency.

Release v0.49.0: Best Pilot now optimised for desktop 13.03.24
  • The Best Pilot Platform has undergone significant desktop optimization to provide a smoother, more responsive experience for administrators and head trainers (HT). Users will notice faster load times, improved navigation, and a more intuitive interface. These optimizations make it easier than ever for school Admins to manage courses, track student progress, and oversee instructor schedules, all from one centralized location.

  • The new mobile dedicated Best Pilot Light app is available for FI and Students!

Recognizing the unique needs of pilots we've launched the BP Light app, a mobile application designed specifically for FIs and students. This lightweight (offline-ready) app focuses on core functionalities that FIs need, such as managing schedules, logging training sessions, and communicating with students.

  • New registration flow which enhanced security with Code Authentication for more efficient Account Activation

We've implemented a new account activation process that uses code authentication, significantly increasing the security of user accounts.

The process is designed to be quick and user-friendly, requiring users to enter a unique code sent to their email adding an extra layer of security while keeping the activation process straightforward.

Release v0.48.0: Reporting filters and few improvements 27.02.24

Exciting news ahead! We're gearing up for a major update next week, unveiling a split platform with dedicated applications for desktop and mobile users. Meanwhile, this small release brings various improvements and bug fixes. Stay tuned!

  • Users can now filter training reports by type, providing a more streamlined and targeted view of training data.
  • The dashboard now exclusively displays upcoming lessons, ensuring users can quickly access and prioritize current and future training activities, the past unregistered lessons do not show in the dashboard view.
  • Ground training without assigned resources is now visible in the agenda view in the calendar, optimizing the user experience and information presented.
  • Addressed an issue where planning from the student list would register only one student. Now, the software accurately records multiple students involved in the training.
  • HT/FI users can now share a comprehensive summary of ground training sessions, with or without assigned resources, facilitating effective communication within the classroom environment.
Release v0.47.0: Bug fixes and improvements 13.02.24
We've been working on a major and welcome change - splitting the platform into two applications. One for desktop and another for mobile devices. In the meantime, we've also released a range of improvements, including bug fixes. There were some pesky bugs that are no more:
  • Double toast appeared after the login
  • Flight with zero fuel couldn't be saved 
  • Dead-end when searching for the aircraft 
  • Error communicated when editing or adding student documents
